Tips for Making the Most of Your Tele-Health Experience

The following tips can be used in both a Medical or Mental Health related tele-health appointment:

1) Pick a room/place that is quite and secure. This will ensure you are able to hear your service provider well, and that you have the privacy you need. It may also help eliminate that chances of accidentally getting interrupted but others.

2) Give your service provider a phone number at which they can reach you if for some reason the technology fails during your appointment.

3) Make sure you have a comfortable place to sit while you’re participating in the appointment.

4) If you are logging-in to your appointment from your smart phone or tablet, make sure to set up a spot where you can set and prop-up your phone so that you can still be seen and heard without having to help up your phone/tablet for the duration of the appointment.

5) Have a paper and pen handy to take notes or jot down things you want to remember.

6) Ask other people in your household or around you to be respectful or your time and space while the appointment is taking place to reduce possible interruptions or noise.

7) Using headphones can be an effective way to improve the ability hear well throughout the appointment and increase privacy.
